All,
I am in the US Navy and we will be coming out there in celebration of the Great White Fleet. I would like the Filipino-Americans on board to be able to meet with Filipino- Australians. We would like to do some Community Relations together and help celebrate the 100th Ann. of the Great White Fleet. I am looking for contacts and hoping that we can all celebrate together.

Hello Everyone! I will be moving to Brisbane this September or early October. If you live in Eight Mile Plains i would love to meet up and be friends with you. It will be quite a challenge to be on my own and in a foreign country.
By the way, if you need help regarding tagalog language more than happy to help you with that for free (notice that i’m sort of desperate to have some friends when i get there ;-D hahaha..) and besides helping someone doesn’t have to cost anything..
I can speak Tagalog, Waray,Bisaya fluently so just incase..I’m here.

Hello Guys,
We have just migrated in QLD for just 6 months now with a 496 Provisional Visa. This visa is not entitled to any government benefits. However, i found out that i am pregnant and have learned that cost of giving birth here is very expensive. Im planning to just go home in the PHILS to give birth. Do you guys think that i will be doing the right thing? Are there any consequences with it? I need your advices so badly. Thanks and best regards.

THE PRESIDENT
FILIPINO ASSOCIATION FOR PERTH, VICTORIA & NSW
Greetings!
The armed encounters between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in the different places/barrios in the PALMA Alliance in Cotabato (Pigcawayan, Alamada, Libungan, Midsayap, Aleosan including the municipality of Pikit) are still going on, even escalating, despite the repeated calls of the government and institutions as well as the various non-government agencies for peace. The news over the radios and on television is mainly focused on the on-going fight between the two forces; however, they fail to show the sad plight of the internal displaced people (IDPs) in the different evacuation centers in PALMA. To date there are more than 30 evacuation centers (excluding those that sought shelter with their relatives) all over the PALMA alliance with more than 150,000 IDPs.
The IDPs are already running short of food because of their big number and the contributions/donations that we ask from our students and the community are just limited because most of the people here are affected by the fighting.
We are, therefore, appealing to you to help us support the IDPs through your donations especially canned goods, noodles, rice or any amount you can spare to supplement what ever they have for the moment. You can deposit your financial donations to:
METROBANK MIDSAYAP
ACCOUNT NAME: NOTRE DAME OF MIDSAYAP COLLEGE
ACCOUNT NUMBER: 334-3-33450317-9
Please fax the deposit slip to our school’s Fax number – (064) 229 8024. Your help will surely go a long way towards helping the IDPs in our place.
We also request you to include in your prayers the peaceful resolution of our problem in North Cotabato.
We do appreciate any assistance you can extend to us. God bless and More Power!
Sincerely yours,
nsjorolan
