The commemorative event (local time, 6am July 28) was highlighted by a special worship service in Ewa Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii (remote time, 10am July 27) including dedication of a newly constructed 830-seater worship building in Ewa Beach and ordination of 50 evangelical ministers.

The commemorative worship service was led by INC Executive Minister, Bro Eduardo V. Manalo.

The Iglesia Ni Cristo was registered with the Philippine Government on July 27, 1914 and its first mission outside the Philippines was established on July 27, 1968 in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. Currently, the INC has established congregations in 143 countries and territories according to its records with Vanuatu and some African countries as the latest additions.

Streamed live, the religious service was attended this morning by INC members located in the close to 100 congregations of the INC in Australia. Metro Sydney-based INC members gathered at the Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool for the video-linked gathering.

An hour-long nonstop entertainment presentation featuring INC historical snippets in song, dance and narratives by mostly youth performers followed the religious service.

In Metro Sydney, hundreds of INC members in two separate venues (Arncliffe Public School in Sydney’s eastern suburb of Arncliffe and INC’s Western Sydney Chapel Grounds in Sydney’s western suburb of Minchinbury) distributed goodwill bags containing essential winter wear items to local residents who attended the event.

“What we see today is evidence of God’s help to the Church Of Christ, because this Aid to Fight Poverty is our love for our brethren and fellowmen,” INC Australia-East Ecclesiatical District Minister Bro Raul Adalla said.

This year’s INC Fight Poverty outreach program was launched on July 15 at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila by some 1,400 doctors, dentists, and medical-dental volunteers who provided services to an estimated 120,000 beneficiaries.
