Fiesta Kultura is a festival that provides opportunities for people to make new friends or get together with old ones. This year’s cultural festival is the 29th.
Families and friends can taste the unique and mouth savouring array of Fil-Aust food – from different kinds of savouries, barbeques, sweets/pastries and freshly cook adobo, menudo, kaldereta, dinuguan, pinakbet, lechon to street food – from stalls and food trucks.
As in previous years, the services of the Philippine Consulate General in Sydney will be on hand to cater to the consular and diplomatic needs of the community.
Participation from various community groups and emerging young talents who will present their cultural dances and musical performances is anticipated.
There will also be children’s playground and rides, karaoke participation, arts and crafts painting workshops and many more.
This year’s 29th Kultura festivities are aligned with The United Nations 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development in recognition of the tremendous potential of the tourism industry.
Tourism accounts for some 10% of the world’s economic activity. To contribute to the fight against poverty and foster mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue is all at the heart of UNESCO’s mission.
