One in 10 people in NSW are carers, which means there are approximately 905,000 carers living in NSW. Carers are ordinary people who are caring for a family member or friend.
The NSW Carers Awards acknowledge and celebrate the significant contribution unpaid or ‘informal’ carers make to the person (or people) they care for and the community.
Carer support groups, employers and education providers that have made a commitment to carers can also be nominated.
Up to 10 awards will be presented, including the 2017 NSW Carer of the Year.
Nominations of carers from all communities across NSW are encouraged, including young carers, senior carers, family carers, carer support groups and carer-friendly employers and education providers.
Nominations are sought across NSW from Monday 3 July to Thursday 31 August 2017.
You can nominate online at www.careforacarer.nsw.gov.au/carersawards
