Following the information briefing held recently in Liverpool by APCO and the Philippine Consulate General on the Scarborough Shoal stand-off, there has been some debates on the Status of Visiting Forces Agreement (SOVFA) with Australia, a case in point raised during the briefing.
The SOVFA is due for third reading in the Philippine Senate this month.
A case for ratification was argued by lawyer Ms Lolita Farmer, a regular contributor of this website, which was also shared on Facebook personal and group pages.
Some Filipino Australian community members have expressed that SOVFA should be ratified. Others said, no. And others said they needed more information.
