Visayan cultural dance group ‘wows’ them again

Once again, the Visayan Cultural Dance Group members have shown they have truly come of age, with two performances last month.

The first event was held on the 5th of April at the Mary Mother of the Church Parish in Macquarie Fields. The second on the 18th Annual Holy Shroud Fiesta held on 13th April, (Easter Monday) at St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Merrylands.

The first event at Macquarie Fields saw the dance group perform the “Flower Dance” which was well received, many commented on how well the performers were dressed in Filipiniana attire, and the colourful dance performed so well.

Those who attended including the President of the PCC NSW, Mr Ronaldo Villaver, were impressed with the dancers performance led by Edna Voros, president of the VAA Inc.

The second event held at the Holy Shroud Fiesta in Merrylands was received with praise and cheers. The dance group performed the popular “Pearly Shells” which did not disappoint the participants of the Fiesta Dinner.

The dancers were not only impressive in their performance but also very colourful in their outfits. The group has new recruits for the dance, three young girls who showed they could learn just as quick.

Overall, the Visayan Cultural Dance Group demonstrated that they could not only dance but could put on a good performance.
