Aussie White Sharks test RP national team in Manila

The Hoopdreamz Aussie Sharks will play a two-game exhibition series against the All-Pro Powerade-RP basketball team from April 3 to 5 at the Araneta Coliseum.
This was revealed by Marco Selorio, Sydney-based Filipino marketing manager of the Australian team that will be known as Great White Sharks.
The clash between the tall and physical Australian basketballers and the Asian Championship-bound Philippine national team is expected to be an exhibition of power basketball plays.
The battle is also billed to be a big sports story in Sydney.
Selorio likewise disclosed that Mick Pennisi, one of the ‘senior citizens’ of the RP five will most likely receive a citation from the Australian squad.
Pennisi is from Brisbane, Australia.
‘He’s from Australia. He should have played for us. We’re planning to give him a replica jersey in his honor,’ Selorio said. // Based on reporting by Manila Bulletin and GMANews.Tv

UPDATE:
From PBA reporting, yesterday’s game closed out the series as a sweep in favour of the Philippine national team but it required the heroics of player Kerby Raymundo with 15 of his 24 points spread in the fourth quarter to power the Philippine national team past the Aussies to a 93-89 overtime win.
