Perfect scores for NCAA-UAAP Tenpin bowlers

Two bowlers each scoring a perfect 300 in the same game are highlights of the recent 2008 NCAA-UAAP Alumni Tenpin Bowling Challenge Cup tournament, reported chief tournament organiser Vangie Leones.

The tournament was played at Tenpin City bowling lanes in Lidcombe last Sunday, September 28,

Joe Baduria, of FEATI, scored the first 300 in lane No 1. Only minutes after in lane No 2, Alex Rivera, of University of the East, followed with a 300 of his own. FEATI and UE were playing each other.

Other high scoring bowlers are:

High Game Female – Norma Blancaflor with 264 pinfalls

High Game Male – Jay Jerusalem with 298 pinfalls

High Series Female – Rose Franco with 738 pinfalls

High Series Male – Joe Baduria with 832 pinfalls

La Salle won the overall championship trophy with University of the East receiving the runner-up trophy.

The NCAA-UAAP Alumni Tenpin Bowling Challenge Cup is an annual event which started in 1998.

This year’s tournament was participated in by Adamson, Ateneo, CEU, Don Bosco, Feati, FEU, JRC, La Salle, Mapua, PLM, PUP, SLU, UE, UP and UST.

“The event went smoothly through a spirit of bayanihan, and we acknowledge the support of our sponsors and donors,” said Vangie Leones.

The other members of the organising committee are Sue Mantaring, Ting Alberto, Fred Daroy and Ramon Gajitos. #
