WEST SYDNEY RAZORBACKS will take centre stage at the Kalayaan Basketball Festival to be staged on June 15 at Stanhope Gardens, Blacktown.
Razorbacks Coach Rob Beveridge confirmed that a selection of players will participate in the main game. NBL stars Eban Hyams, Drew Williamson and Clint Reed will lead the club along with star players from local Filipino champions AMIGOS.
They will battle the HOOPDREAMZ-Philippines All Star squad led by NBL superstars and former MVPs Bruce Bolden, Lanard Copeland, Darryl “DMAC” McDonald and Pinoy players Rodel Manuel, Vergel Alcantara, Joemar Dormido and Bing Mantua.
HOOPDREAMZ Managing Director Marco Selorio says, “This will be the first time that local Pinoys get an opportunity to play alongside marquee players from the NBL. I believe the Filipino players will rise up to the occasion.”
The first ever KALAYAAN games will showcase grassroots talent from Sydney and Canberra. A total of twenty four teams will play exhibition games from 12PM. The main highlights include Team NSW against FILCOM Canberra, the big school alumni match between La Salle and Ateneo, followed by the Razorbacks – HOOPDREAMZ game.
