Three in children’s court after Western Sydney pursuit

Police have charged three juveniles following a pursuit through Western Sydney which lasted almost an hour overnight.

Officers were patrolling Shalvey shortly before 11pm when they saw a Subaru Liberty sedan which had been reported stolen earlier from St Marys yesterday afternoon. Officers have indicated for the driver to stop but will allege it instead accelerated away.

A pursuit was initiated and the sedan was followed for almost an hour through the suburbs of Mt Druitt, Blacktown, and Quakers Hill, involving the police helicopter, PolAir.

Three juveniles were arrested after road spikes were deployed and the vehicle was stopped in Prospect. The juveniles were taken to Blacktown Police Station.

As a result:

A 17-year-old youth from Lalor Park has been charged with drive in a manner dangerous, take and drive conveyance without consent, driving without a licence, and fail to exchange particulars;

A 16-year-old girl from St Marys has been charged with the illegal use of a conveyance and two counts of breach of bail; and,

A 17-year-old youth from Prospect has been charged with the illegal use of a conveyance.

All were refused bail and are due to appear in Parramatta Children’s Court later today. /NSW Police Media
