Hovert brings classics to Pinoy
April 19, 2007

By JAIME K PIMENTEL

Classical music comes to the hub of many Filipino music lovers at Pinoy Sentral function centre when guitarist Hovert Gonzales starts a Friday night session this week.

Mr Gonzales, who performs with his vintage acoustic guitar, plays everything from Italian and German classics to Latin and Filipino folk music. His repertoire includes standard songs with humorous translations.

Pinoy Sentral proprietor Orly Jaucian said he wanted to offer partons a taste of fine music. ''This is a family venue, and I wanted to cater to all musical tastes,'' Mr Jaucian said.

Mr Gonzales has played and busked in Sydney and elsewhere with his fine music, much to the delight of audiences. Pinoy Sentral may make his session a regular one if there was enough patronage, Mr Jaucian said. #
